Slow Food Portland and Terra Madre 2012

Tuesday August 14th 2012 Terra Madre 2012

Pastaworks has been a long time supporter of Slow Food, the movement that began in Italy to counter the encroachment of fast food and to posit an alternative to the industrialization of the world wide food system.

Every two years Slow Food convenes farmers, food activists and leaders from around the world to Terra Madre, the international food conference in Turin, Italy. Delegates bring back a wealth of ideas, knowledge, and inspiration to share with others in the region. The vision of Terra Madre embraces a growing network of people working together for a sustainable food system for all – our delegates represent our part in this global mission.

Slow Food Portland is sending another exciting group of delegates to this year’s event. Slow Food International hosts the delegates while they attend the conference, but transportation is up to the delegates and the local chapters. So, Slow Food Portland invites you to a Terra Madre 2012 Fundraiser Dinner and Silent Auction, Saturday, August 25, at Montinore Estate in Forest Grove. For complete details, click on this link:

This is a great opportunity to meet the 2012 delegates and to support Slow Food. Don’t delay!

ps: Please contact Slow Food Portland directly with any questions about the event. Thanks!
