Bar Keep Chinese Bitters – Josh Loving, a bartender in Austin, developed these Chinese bitters using a five-spice blend of clove, fennel, cinnamon, star anise and Sichuan peppercorn. Try as a substitution for Angostura in an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or for Pechaud’s in the Sazerac. Jack Rudy Small Batch Tonic Syrup – Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Small Batch Tonic is a concentrated tonic syrup, formulated to create a terrific ‘Gin & Tonic.’ Founders Taylor Huber and Brooks Reitz are self-proclaimed gin lovers, and wanted to create their our own tonic when they were unable to find a simple, bright, and zesty mix for hot summer-day drinks. The resulting syrup concentrates sweetness with lemongrass, orange peel, sugar and quinine. Add to your favorite gin or vodka and top with soda water for the ‘fizz’. The tonic can also be used in other cocktails as a sweetening agent. Pralus Tobago Estate 70% Dark Chocolate – Made from cacao grown on a single estate, this chocolate uses the Trinitario bean, a superb hybrid used in many fine chocolates. At 70%, its a bit lower than Pralus’ typical bar, but it doesn’t taste that way. The flavor is full and rich with hints of brown sugar and pecan. Happy Holidays from Everyone at The Meadow! |
