About Deltetto
The Deltetto Winery was founded in 1953 by Carlo Deltetto in Canale, Italy. In a territory of great grape-growing tradition, Carlo immediately adopted a philosophy concerning the quality of the traditional vines like the Nebbiolo and Barbera without neglecting the Arneis and Favorita whites in their perfect habitat on the steep hills of the Roero. In 1977, Carlo’s son Antonio arrived on the scene giving a new input into the company with different experiments in the cellar and a new way of working in the vine-yards but with maximum respect for tradition. Today there are approximately 20 hectares of vine-yards in the boroughs of Canale, Santo Stefano Roero and Castellinaldo. The production is equally divided between the reds and whites but with the Roero, the most important red in the area made with Nebbiolo grapes, and the Roero Arneis stand out from the crowd. Thanks to acknowledgements for the D.O.C.G. 2005 harvest, these wines are now considered to be amongst the most important in Italy. With the passing of time the desire for something new has not waned and there are now an Arneis raisin wine, a late harvested Barbera, a great Barolo and last but not least, three spumanti wines made exclusively by the company and including a Rosé made from Nebbiolo grapes.
About Ca’ del Baio
The Ca’ del Baio winery is a perfect blend of rationality, technological features, and more than 100 years of experience. The Grasso family has been in the wine growing business since 1880: a real tradition handed down over time from father to son. Most of the vineyards are located on their farm in Valgrande, in the village of Treiso, while the remainders are in one of the finest and best-known wine-growing sites in Barbaresco, called “Asili“. The Nebbiolo variety - from which Barbaresco, a wine of extreme elegance and finesse in made - Dolcetto, Barbera, Chardonnay ana Moscato are grown to produce exclusively Doc and Docg, status wines. Although the production is mostly given over to red wines (Barbaresco, Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba), there are also two white wines: Chardonnay Sermine, which is fermented and matured in wood, and Moscato d’Asti.
