Last month, author Michael Pollan spoke about his new book “In Defense of Food” to a sold out crowd in Portland at the Bagdad Theater. If you missed him in person, you can still catch his talk, which centers around the succinct eater’s manifesto, Eat Food, Not too Much and Mostly Plants, courtesy of Edible Portland, in four short videos produced by Cooking Up A Story.
Pollan unpacks and examines the political moments, economic realities and marketing ploys that have lead Americans away from the simple joys of eating real foods to consuming a myriad of brightly packaged edible food-like substances. Through retracing this history with humor, reason and candor, Pollan helps us find our way back to sensible eating that is a healthy pleasure. Each segment runs from 8 to 12 minutes and includes footage of the pre-show interspersed with a special interview conducted by Edible Portland editor and publisher, Deborah Kane.
