Tiki Night
September 12, 2010 |4pm-close
What with the summer winding down, we’re anxious for the final rays of dappled sunshinefalling through the leaves. As such, we’d like to take this opportunity to once again celebrate the joy of Tiki Cocktails. Join Portland’s resident expert in all things faux-Polynesian, Blair Reynolds (www.tradertiki.com), as he brings you the finest sampling of classic and contemporary cocktails in the tropical vein. Blenders abuzz and garnishes galore, his wealth of homemade syrups and liqueurs fashion the very best drinks the Tiki world has to offer. He’s rolling out some otherworldly concoctions, so don’t miss the chance to sample (read: gulp down) a Blood of the Kapu Tiki, Tropic Lightning, or the legend of the Blackheart Punch. Open to everyone, so please come & join us for the fun. Sunday, September 12th, 4pm-close.
Bringing the Mountain to Mohammed
Chris Churilla & Chad Doll
September 20, 2010 | 7pm-close
We’re pleased to announce another in our ongoing series of guest bartenders from around the country. This time, it’s a double-bill: one of our esteemed compatriots from the mid-west, and one from our own backyard. Both of these fine gents were honored to be among the select few Apprentices at this year’s Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, at which point they were both named “Top Ten Mixologists to Watch in 2010.”
Chad Doll tends bar at Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge in Milwaukee, garnering many accolades along the way and seeing his recipes published in such fine publications as Imbibe Magazine. Last year, he won the national Drambuie cocktail competition.
Chris Churilla has been an inspirational member of the Oregon Bartenders Guild (OBG) since its inception, and he now serves on the Board. He’s been making delicious drinks in Corvallis for the last 6 years, currently running the program at del Alma.
They will be bringing their own particular style (and menus, of course) to the bar for the evening, so please come down to show our friends some love.
