Gulfi WineMaker Dinner and a Cheap Date From MiNGO
September 7, 2010
Ciao Tutti!
Contrary to the title, I am NOT a cheap date. But I’ll get to that in a minute.
First things first:
We are closed Monday night 6 September and
we are closed for LUNCH on Tuesday 7 September.
We will be open again at 5pm on Tuesday for dinner.
MiNGO camping weekend, our staff will be enjoying themselves at Timothy Lake. Hope for hot weather.
Next, we will be hosting Cheap Date and their classic rock music at the piazza in The Round right outside our garage doors Wednesday 8 September. It’s a back to school special, fun for the whole family or a time to relive your love affair with classic rock. They’re really fun, very good and are, actually, a command performance after playing here in June. We will serve cheap wine for your cheap date at the outside bar and “let the good times roll”. Ouch. Sorry.
Music starts at 5:30pm and we will NOT be taking reservations this night.
The week of 21 September we will be going to Sicily. Well, at least with our winemaker dinner series. As shady and unpredictable as those Sicilians can be, I don’t yet have a specific date, but we welcome Mateo Catania of Az Agr Gulfi winery to MiNGO. Some of you may have joined us when we last had Gulfi in town, with Massimo that time, and remember the great wines and food. This time, weather permitting, we will be outside in classic Sicilian style enjoying Mateo’s indigenous varietal wines and his charming tales from his beautiful estate in southeastern Sicily. (I will try and attach another picture but am not so great at this new format yet.) I will let you know as soon as I have confirmation.
As of now: Gulfi WineMaker Dinner Date TBA, 6:30pm $75
A few more quick things and I’ll leave you alone.
We host an Our House dinner here on Saturday 25 September which should be great. It’s sold out I believe, but if you want more information on what Our House is or what other dinners are available please see their website.
We are also hosting a benefit for William Temple House on Thursday 7 October with Ayoub wines. You will hear more about this soon, but please save the date if it sounds up your alley.
We obviously have a new email format, as you can tell, but we also have a new website. We are very happy with it and hope to add all sorts of fun stuff to it on a regular basis. Check it out. Leave us a note.
We’ve also been posting our daily specials on facebook, so if you want to be tempted every afternoon by what we’re cooking here, please check it out and become a fan(atic) or a friend. Someone suggested I should connect it to Twitter and do tweets, but I’m not sure tweedle dee and tweedle dum who run this place could be that on to it. Yes, talking about myself.
That’s it. Thanks for reading. You will be hearing more from me soon
ciao
