Wildwood Unveils New Spirit Series – and Bar!

Every Third Thursday Means Late Night “Guest Distillery Series” at Wildwood Restaurant & Bar
Portland, Ore. (August 10, 2010) – The third Thursday of the month has a whole new meaning at Wildwood Restaurant & Bar: one local distillery and five $5 cocktails curated by Wildwood bartender Ryan Csanky. Plus - representatives from the featured local distillery will sip and sample with guests at the beautifully renovated bar.
Northwest Portland’s Wildwood Restaurant kicked-off its new “Guest Distillery Series” last month with local favorite, New Deal Distillery. This month, on Thursday, August 26 from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m., Wildwood will feature House Spirits Distillery. Bartender Ryan Csanky will mix up $5 cocktails featuring House Spirits – Aviation Gin, Krogstad Aquavit, Medoyeff Vodka and their new House Spirits Whiskey. And what makes the “Guest Distillery Series” extra special is that during this program, House Spirits’s distillers Lee Medoff and Christian Krogstad will be on hand to talk with guests, while Csanky and the team mix up drinks with Wildwood’s unique kitchen to bar approach.
“Portland is the hub for local spirits, so bartenders here are in a position to be hyper-local with cocktail menus,” says Ryan Csanky, Wildwood bartender. “Our Guest Distillery Series is an opportunity to celebrate local spirits, while offering our guests a chance to mingle with the distillers and learn what local bartenders are doing with these spirits.”
The “Guest Distillery Series” launches just as Wildwood premieres its new and improved bar area, which recently underwent a revamp – new art, floors, bar stools and more.
$5 cocktails include Wildwood’s Valhalla, made with muddled cucumber, Aviation Gin, Krogstad Aquavit, Triple Sec, lime and sugar.
Wildwood will host its “Guest Distillery Series” every third Thursday of the month and feature five $5 cocktails with one local distillery.
