The Tao of Tea opens a Micro Teabrewery in Portland

August 16, 2010, Portland, Oregon – Regarded as a pioneer in the specialty tea movement, local tea company, The Tao of Tea has opened a new micro Teabrewery.

The Tao of Tea is a garden-direct importer of organic and fair trade teas which are currently sold at select natural foods, specialty stores and fine restaurants across the country. The company also operates three famous teahouses in Portland.

Veerinder Chawla, tea lover and founder of the company stated “The Teabrewery will enable us to showcase the art of brewing and bottling small batch and specialty, organic teas and herbs.  Our partner retailers will have full transparency of the process – all the way from the tea garden to the bottle.  Unlike many large co-packing operations, our brewing methods will not use any added flavors, oils, or powders.  Rather, we will be carefully brewing the highest quality pure leaf teas brought to Portland with our Direct-Trade business model.  A series of bottled tea categories are planned to be launched in the coming months”.
