The Portland Culinary Alliance Presents Food Styling and Photography Workshop

Join acclaimed food stylist Delores Custer, author of Food Styling: The Art of Preparing Food for the Camera, and renowned photographer John Valls on September 11, 2010 for a hands-on afternoon workshop learning how to produce dazzling food photographs. From bloggers to aspiring cookbook authors, this program will offer something for all interests.
The program will start with a discussion of food styling and food photography’s general principals, followed by a demonstration of the practical techniques involved in styling and shooting a basic salad dish. Delores and John will emphasize the differences between editorial photography and advertisements.
Attendees will gain hands-on experience with their new skills by assembling and photographing their own salad creations, while Delores and John offer on the spot advice. Guests should bring cameras and props (salad plates and bowls), all other materials will be provided. Light snacks will be served.
