Latest Burgerville Menu Offering Supports Doernbecher Children’s Hospital
August 17, 2010
Burgerville has introduced their newest Community Champion, Full Sail Brewing Company’s Executive Brewmaster Jamie Emmerson, and their latest, seasonal menu offering that he helped inspire, Ale Battered Albacore & Summer Slaw. The company has long been considered a leader in sustainable business practices and has sought out local, like-minded individuals that share their belief that self-supporting and sustainable communities are thriving communities. Emmerson’s commitment to sustainable practices at Full Sail Brewing makes him yet another great fit for Burgerville to feature.
The Ale Battered Albacore features Marine Stewardship Council certified Albacore Tuna battered in award-winning Full Sail Amber Ale, processed here in the Pacific Northwest by Odyssey Seafood in Seattle. This limited time offering is paired with a refreshing Summer Slaw, which is prepared fresh daily in Burgerville restaurants and combines red and green cabbage, carrots, red onion and fresh mint from Herb Thyme Farms with dried Oregon cranberries from the Willamette Valley’s own Meduri Farms.

As part of Burgerville’s vision to support self-reliant communities here in the Pacific Northwest, the Vancouver-based chain will be donating a portion from every Ale Battered Albacore & Summer Slaw sold during this six week promotion to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation and will support the Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center at Oregon Health & Science University. The center treats children and adults with diabetes, trains current and future diabetes specialists and provides resources that improve the standard of care for diabetes patients across Oregon and southwest Washington, including those in underserved areas. The Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center is one of only a few to treat both adults and children in one facility, providing continuity of care throughout a patient’s lifelong relationship with diabetes.
