Chef Studio Round Table – Building a business

at the Chef Studio for a Round Table

panel and discussion on the subject of

“Building a business in food.”

This is an opportunity to bring together people with a potential interest in learning at the Studio and  introducing them to the creative minds and ideas of talented cooks who have been part of the Chef Studio, who now constitute its community, and are working toward building a variety of businesses.

Some of the students at the Studio take the knowledge they’ve gained and are in varying stages of creating businesses.

[] One is on the cusp of opening a restaurant.

[] Another has positioned herself to be a caterer by having her kitchen certified, acquiring her food handlers permit, amassing food sources from local growers and producers.

[] Yet another saw the opportunity to pull together 30 people for a dinner she choreographed. Its success told her she might consider doing private dining events.

[] Another practices dinners on an international theme, so that when he retires in five years, he’ll be ready to move his interest in food toward the creation of a business.

The students’ ideas are in varying degrees of evolution. Between them, their story, their idea, what they’ve accomplished, what is left to do, one sees a picture of what it takes to create a business.

The event is open to 25 respondents interested in the courses of study at the Studio.
