About Accanto:

A lively café, enoteca and neighborhood gathering spot, Accanto is located in the formerly empty corner space next to Genoa Restaurant. A new addition to Portland’s eastside culinary community, Accanto is operated by the same owners as Genoa, sharing the culinary talents of Executive Chef David Anderson and the same commitment to locally sourced ingredients. Accanto has a casual vibe and friendly, open ambience for lingering over a cup of espresso, glass of wine or a satisfying evening meal. The menu draws inspiration from both European cafes and locally available ingredients from throughout the Pacific NW region.  The menu offers simply prepared dishes like stuffed foccacia, panini, fritti, salumi and cheese plates, pasta, salads and baked desserts. Designed in collaboration with three Portland design and construction firms, Accanto melds local artistry with European aesthetics. Accanto is located at 2838 SE Belmont in the historic Genoa Building and is open daily for casual European-style cuisine, a glass of wine or an espresso and dessert. Starting February 1, 2010, Accanto will have extended hours Sunday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight.
