Beginning this week, the Oregon Convention Center (OCC) expanded the hours of operation of its hip new cocktail lounge, Stir, to offer ‘Happy Hour’ specials every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Stir opened on November 4, 2009, to rave reviews and healthy sales revenues. Since that time, it has catered to convention center clients and customers mainly. By expanding and establishing regular hours of operation, neighborhood workers and residents can now enjoy a convenient boutique space and the city’s largest selection of locally-distilled spirits. Portland beers and Oregon wines are also featured, in addition to small plates crafted with fresh, local ingredients on a menu that evolves as the seasons change.
Stir’s signature drink is the Solartini, created in honor of the OCC’s soon-to-be constructed solar panel rooftop project, comprised of Portland-based New Deal Distillery’s Portland 88 vodka, triple sec, Brandy Peak Blackberry Liqueur and freshly squeezed lemon juice. KOIN-6 TV’s feature show, “Keep it Local” will feature Stir’s Solartini as its Drink of the Week on February 5.
Located directly within the OCC’s main entrance on 777 N.E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Stir is also open during large conventions and trade shows scheduled at the center.
