Burgerville Adds A “Pear” of Items to Its December Menu

December 1, 2009

Did you know that Oregon’s state fruit is the pear? Well, it is and starting December 1, Burgerville will be adding a “pear” of new, limited time gourmet menu offerings to their menu.

Burgerville’s new, Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Pear Chutney takes a golden fried chicken breast, Tillamook Swiss cheese and Oregon D’Anjou Pear chutney, topped with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise, all on a toasted Kaiser bun. If that isn’t enough to whet your appetite following a weekend full of leftover turkey sandwiches, their new Oregon D’Anjou Pear Side Salad tops spring greens with candied Oregon hazelnuts, dried Oregon cranberries and local D’Anjou Pears, served with balsamic vinaigrette.

The Vancouver-based chain has partnered with Truitt Bros. to bring guests D’Anjou Pears, grown locally in the Columbia River Region. Premium Swiss cheese used on the new sandwich is from the Tillamook County Creamery Association and cranberries come from Meduri Farms, grown here in the Willamette Valley. The hazelnuts come from the Hazelnut Growers of Oregon, a grower-owned cooperative that only cultivates hazelnuts that are not genetically modified.

These limited time, gourmet offerings will be available until Monday, January 4 so be sure to “pear” them with some Golden Yukon Waffle Fries or a Chocolate Hazelnut Milkshake while you can!
