100 WINES - 100 PEOPLE - 100 DOLLARS

A benefit tasting of RARE and OLD WINE from the cellar of Armand Martinotti

Rare and old wines from the cellar of a significant local collector will the focus of a special tasting event on November 18, 2009, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Portland’s Ten-01 restaurant and sponsored by The Oregon Pinot Noir Club.

At least one hundred different wines will be opened, representing Burgundy, Bordeaux, California, Italy, Oregon and more. The tasting will focus on older wines that are ten, twenty, and thirty years old! Attendance is limited to the first 100 tasters, with tickets available for $100.

The wines will be poured in a walk-around format, with heavy appetizers and charcuterie provided by the kitchen wizards at Ten-01.

The wines are from the collection of the late Armand Martinotti, a long-time Portland wine merchant and restaurateur who passed unexpectedly last year. An avid wine collector, Armand’s cellar spans the great wineries from Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Italy, along with an extensive selection of California wines and a deep collection of Oregon pinots, with examples of every region from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. Proceeds from the event will go directly to Armand’s family.

Advance ticket purchases are encouraged. Tickets can be purchased from The Oregon Pinot Noir Club at 503-222-1189. or by going to localevents.com.

For more information, email Bob Wolfe at pinotguy@oregonpinotnoir.com. Any unsold tickets will be available at the door, but we anticipate a full house for this amazing event – be sure to reserve your space early!
