The First Annual Restaurant Week Presented by Forkfly & NW 32
July 23, 2009
Forkfly and NW 32 have come together with some of the best restaurants in Portland to host the First Annual Oregon Restaurant Week. It starts Friday August 14th and continues through Sunday August 23rd. All of the proceeds are going to the Union Gospel Mission.
“This is a great chance for people to check out the Portland culinary scene,” says Cori Savaiano an Intern at Forkfly and food enthusiast. For a little over a week the participating restaurants will offer a three-course dinner at a fixed price of $32.00 per person and $60.00 for couples. In some locations there will be three-course lunches for a price of $18.59 to celebrate Oregon’s 150th year of Statehood.
The Union Gospel Mission will be receiving the earnings to help rebuild their kitchen. Union Gospel Mission has been “feeding the hungry and restoring the addict” since 1927, as their website states. The remodel project includes replacing appliances, cracked flooring in the dining room and upgrading restrooms for the homeless. “This is an excellent opportunity to get out and try some of Oregon’s Best restaurants for an affordable price and a good cause,” says Marc Dooley, COO for Forkfly.
