Lakeside; summer menu; limited ed brews…

July 7, 2009

Summer has finally arrived… celebrate lakeside at Kirkland’s Wilde Rover with new summer menu items and the limited edition Guinness® 250 Anniversary Stout.

The Slivered Pear and Goat Cheese Salad tops mixed greens with slivered pears, curried cashews, celery and goat cheese fritters with caramelized pear vinaigrette.

Blue Cornmeal Snapper is crusted in blue cornmeal and pan seared, and sits atop roasted corn artisan grits with fresh corn, a tomato salad and roasted red pepper sauce.

For non-seafood lovers, the NY Strip Steak is topped with house churned bleu cheese butter and a peppercorn-caramel demi glace with a warm fingerling potato salad.

And because no al fresco dinner is complete sans dessert, Wilde Rover’s Chef Andy Leonard is excited to introduce the PB&J Mousse Cake, which he claims is “simply delicious.” This grown-up take on a childhood favorite combines white chocolate, dark chocolate and peanut butter mousse layered between raspberry gelee and shortbread. The whole thing is covered in chocolate ganache and served with Chambord raspberry sauce.

Guinness® 250 Anniversary Stout, the first new Guinness stout to be sold stateside since Guinness was first imported in 1966. Created by the Guinness Master Brewer, and available for a limited time, the new brew is an ideal, refreshing choice for warmer weather: malty-er and more carbonated than the classic, creamy stout, it also packs a slightly greater punch; 5.0% alcohol by volume to the original’s 4.2% A.B.V.

If you’d like to stop in to try some seasonal summer fare and a Guinness 250 (before it’s gone for good!), please let me know. I’d be happy to set something up for you!
