URBAN FARMER PRESENTS A NINES TASTING AT THE NINES

Conde Cox, wine critic and writer for Portland Monthly

and Urban Farmer Wine Steward Megan McGinness present a rare tasting

Portland, OR (July 28, 2009) – Come and taste nine carefully selected wines from all over the world representing the great vintage years ending in nine at Urban Farmer in the Nines Hotel.  The tasting will be held August 15th, 2009 at 4 p.m. and is $99 per person not including gratuity.

With his personal stories and vast knowledge of the world of wine, Conde Cox will guide guests through this unique tasting. Guests will compare and contrast Oregon and California Pinot Noir side by side as well as explore the vineyards of the left and right banks of Bordeaux.  The list of wines includes but is not limited to a 1999 German Riesling from Berkastler Vineyard created by Von Kesselstatt Winery, a 1999 Central Coast Pinot Noir from Williams-Selyem Winery in California and a 1989 Classified Second Growth Bordeaux from the Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou Winery.

While sampling these vintage selections, Chef Matt Christianson will pair them with seasonally inspired small plates. Guests are encouraged to join us for an a la carte dinner following the tasting and bring wines from their personal cellars to enjoy with complimentary corkage.

Space is limited. Reservations for the Nines Tasting at the Nines please contact Megan McGinness at 503.222.4900 or email at megan.mcginness@urbanfarmerrestaurant.com
